In 2024 we along with several other homecare providers were approached by the team at the Great Hospital as they were looking to support their residents through a change in their care model as they were no longer able to provide personal care to their residents by their directly employed staff.

Following a series of presentations and individual meetings with residents, we were grateful to be chosen by all of the residents requiring care to provide their future personal care and other support on a one-to-one basis.

This enabled us to work in partnership with the team at the Great Hospital to provide a successful transition period in May 2024 before we took over responsibilities from the Great Hospital.

We and the team at the Great Hospital have frequently received positive feedback about the service that our carers provide to people on a one-to-one basis.

As we are supporting many individual residents our staff have had a daily presence and access to a staff room at the Great Hospital.  This means that they are on time for their scheduled visits as they are not having to deal with traffic or travelling from across the city to attend. Also, by being based on site our staff have been able to step in and assist when residents have experienced unplanned or emergency situations, which have required additional or unplanned visits.

We liaise closely with the team at The Great Hospital and have been able to work with them in proactive ways to help identify residents that may be at risk of losing their independence or well being either in the short term due to illness or as part of longer-term changes in their health. This collaborative approach has enabled early interventions that have supported residents to remain living independently in their own flats.

We can support residents who are funded by social care, NHS and have worked closely in partnership with Norfolk County Council throughout the transition period and beyond. We can also work with people who wish to self-fund their care.
